Almerinda Gillet
Ceramist
Almerinda was born in Leiria, Portugal.
She began her career in a photographic laboratory and earned her notoriety with black and white Prestige prints.
Attracted by manual work, she starts working clay in 2016 . At the same time, she continues photography and starts associating ceramics in her global artistic approach.
To return to the most natural state of the earth , this is how Almerinda transcribes her emotions in her designs, by defining the duality between the exterior and the interior of her works.
Each piece is unique : alliance of an idea and an emotion.
Almerinda's pieces fit perfectly into everyday life as functional objects, but also as autonomous ones, reconnecting through their raw poetry with the essence of a mineral nature.
