Matilde Dimas
Painter
Matilde’s work process is reaction chained, where every thought links onto the next one, every reference links with another one. When she sees Knitting, it reminds her of Arte Povera, where wire is being used, consequently leading onto Eva Hesse’s sculptures, which she then jumps to Olafur Eliasson’s work which plays with architecture and advanced technology using mathematical patterns, where Matilde finally circles back to the patterns in knitting. Explaining the theme within her work, to collect and recycle objects. Manipulating, politicising them to tell a story.
