"ART IS A VERY IMPORTANT VEHICLE TO CONVEY A MESSAGE OF NOT ONLY RAISING AWARENESS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES BUT ALSO TO BRING A SIGN OF HOPE." Vanessa Barragao.
Vanessa Barragao is an all-ecological textile artist based in Portugal who after graduating from the Master Program at the Lisbon University in Fashion and Textile Design came to open her own design studio in 2014. Her inspirations of the ocean are depicted in many of her art works, which is deeply connected with her growing up and living in the seaside in the south of Portugal. The design studio is best known for their work with artisanal techniques and for using recycled materials such as wasted yarns from the industry to create organic textiles and products for interiors.
For the first time, the Artist creates her tapestries in 3 D, that brings her art work to an other level. They appeared like sculptures .
Antonio Vasconcelos Lapa creates a special collection of Sculptures / Vases for the Design Week.
We can recognise easily his style , always playful, dreamlike and colorfull.
